Dr. Yung-Tsang has worked in the educational front for 40 years as a teacher, lecturer and school principal, and was honoured with the Hong Kong Outstanding Educators’ Award in 1992. She has also worked as a counsellor since 1983 in schools, psychiatric setting, and private establishments, and began to offer clinical supervision since 1997.

With the support of her partners, she established the Green Pastures Whole Person Development Centre in 2002. By providing high quality education and psychological services to professionals and lay persons in Hong Kong, Mainland China and overseas, the centre aims to facilitate “Peace Within, Peace Between and Peace Among” people through finding their own piece of green pasture within their heart and soul.

Being an experienced counsellor and family therapist, curriculum developer and teacher, Dr. Yung-Tsang has been providing high quality family and inter-personal relationship enrichment education in Hong Kong and cities in mainland China and overseas to professionals and lay persons.

Having the Satir Growth Model as her counselling orientation, Dr. Yung-Tsang focuses on helping her clients and students be responsible and happy choice makers of themselves. She enjoys good outcomes in her teaching, counselling, family therapy and clinical supervision. With continuous commitment in her professional and personal development, her doctorate studies not only brought her deeper and broader understanding of Satir’s counselling philosophy and her Growth Model, but also made her the first scholar in the world to study Satir’s clinical supervision. Her research was commented by one of the examiners as “one of the most engrossing and enjoyable manuscript he has ever read in his career as an academic.”

In the past 30 years, Dr. Yung-Tsang has committed herself in promoting the Satir Growth Model in Hong Kong and in the world. She has been a key leader of the Hong Kong Satir Centre, the first Asian elected as a board member of the Virginia Satir Global Network, and the first Asian to be granted the “Living Treasure” award by the Network in 2009. She will continue her commitments in promoting and developing a Growth focused counseling and supervision philosophy which harmonizes with the Chinese culture.
