Adrian Robert Wang Chi Tong, Ph.D., is a Registered Psychologist in Hong Kong and Canada (Ontario). Currently, Dr. Tong is in private practice and holds a number of academic / clinical positions in various tertiary institutions in Hong Kong and Macau, focusing on teaching and supervising counselling and psychology graduate students.

Dr. Tong obtained his Doctorate from the University of Toronto specializing in the area of counselling, clinical psychology, mental health and family violence. His Ph.D. dissertation on male spousal violence was awarded the Academic Excellence for Outstanding Thesis Award (Canadian Psychological Association) and was nominated for the Outstanding Thesis Award (University of Toronto).

Dr. Tong’s authorized area of practice include Counselling, Clinical and Forensic Psychology. Following receipt of his Doctorate, Dr. Tong worked as a clinical psychologist at Markham Stouffville Hospital, Chinese Family Services of Ontario and Toronto Western Hospital. He was also actively involved in conducting training programs for various Family Life Centers and organizations in Toronto and Hong Kong.

Coming from a multicultural personal and professional background, Dr. Tong has extensive experience in working with Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin speaking) and Caucasian clients suffering from a gamut of life difficulties, mental healt problems, couples, family and emotional issues.

Currently, Dr. Tong is in private practice in Hong Kong. He offers individual, marital and family treatment, life and executive coaching, and conducts training workshops for various non-governmental and governmental organizations. He was also the hospital psychologist for Hong Kong Adventist Hospital, and continues to provide treatment for patients from End Sexual Abuse Foundation.

Dr. Tong endorses a holistic and empirically validated approach to health and specializes in cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness and acceptance based solution minded therapy that is client focused, gender and cultural sensitive.  Dr. Tong can also provide diagnostic/ clinical assessment, assisting in differential diagnostic issues and reports for rehabilitation and court related / forensic opinion.
